Visitor Centre Volunteer (South Essex)

We are looking for volunteers at our visitor centre located near Basildon.

Our new and sustainable Nature Discovery Centre with enhanced facilities is the gateway to the Langdon Hills. Set in a stunning nature reserve of 461 acres which comprises of woodland, meadows, lakes and former plotland gardens. Langdon nature reserve is the largest inland reserve managed by Essex Wildlife Trust. The nature reserve occupies some of the highest land in the county, has some commanding views and offers miles of excellent walks, where an abundance of wildlife can be enjoyed. 

We are looking for “people who like people” to assist on our Nature Discovery Centre throughout the week. We give full training and want all our volunteers to feel part of our team.

Our centres are not profit making.  All money raised goes directly back into managing conservation across Essex. 

When can I volunteer?

We are looking for volunteers who are available to help on a weekly basis. 

We generally have volunteer sessions between 10:00 – 13:00 and 13:00 – 17:00 but if that is not convenient we can chat!

What happens next

Your interest in this opportunity will be shared with the relevant Volunteer Manager for consideration. We invite prospective volunteers for a meet and greet with the Volunteer Manager and team to discuss the opportunity. Following this, if you would like to accept role, you will be asked to complete a volunteer registration form and complete any necessary training.

If you decide not to go ahead with a Volunteer opportunity or are unsuccessful, your application will be deleted.
