About the event

This is a chance for beginners to brush up on their wildflower identification skills. We will talk about the different features of flowers used for identification. We will then look at common characteristics in some of the bigger and more common wildflower familes.

Then its time to put our new found knowledge to the test! We will go on some walks and explore the reserve looking at the flowers we find in detail and try to identify them.

Please bring your wildflower book if you have one (always good to practice with your own!), we will have some to share. You may also wish to bring a notebook, hand lens and camera.

Tea and coffee will be provided, you will need to bring lunch (there is a tearoom on site should you wish to purchase food). The day will take place outdoors so please come prepared! Suitable for age 16+.

We will be meeting at the education shelter. Directions will be given at the front desk. Please bring sturdy shoes for walking.
