We are looking for volunteers to help in the Trust’s very first restaurant in our Langdon Nature Discovery Centre.

The restaurant at Langdon Nature Discovery Centre provides a meeting place for visitors to relax after visiting the reserve and learning about conservation.  Money raised in our restaurant goes directly towards funding our vital conservation work here in Essex. 

As a Food and Beverage Assistant you will help serve customers, take food orders, clear tables and use the electronic till.  Full training will be given before you are able to start.

Time commitment 

  • Ideally volunteering weekly, either a full or half day. Our restaurant is open from 9am – 5pm during the summer and 10am-4pm in the winter months, with support particularly required around lunchtime. 

  • Our catering teams are busiest during weekends and school holidays.

What happens next

Your interest in this opportunity will be shared with the relevant Volunteer Manager for consideration. We invite prospective volunteers for a meet and greet with the Volunteer Manager and team to discuss the opportunity. Following this, if you would like to accept role, you will be asked to complete a volunteer registration form and complete any necessary training.

If you decide not to go ahead with a Volunteer opportunity or are unsuccessful, your application will be deleted.
