Safeguarding

Essex Wildlife Trust is committed to practices that protect everyone and consider that safeguarding of all is everyone’s responsibility. Every EWT volunteer undertakes Safeguarding training as part of the induction process, proportionate to their role. Thank-you for your vigilance and helping to keep children, young people and vulnerable adults safe.

"The Trust was founded by volunteers in 1959 and volunteers continue to play a critical role, outnumbering staff by 10:1. Their dedication and passion in supporting the Trust’s mission is truly inspiring. Time is the most precious thing we have: to give it freely is the most generous thing you can do. Drawing on our collective talent and enthusiasm, we continue to achieve remarkable things for wildlife. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all our volunteers for their contribution and impact. We are deeply grateful to them for helping to safeguard our natural world for future generations."
